Roland has worked with/on the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), a fund that provides infrastructure finance in developing markets, specifically Sub-Saharan Africa since 1 August 2007. P He transitioned with the team to Investec Asset Management when the contract transferred in May 2016. EAIF is owned by the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), an initiative of the development agencies of several countries. The types of infrastructure EAIF finances includes inter aliae telecommunications, power, ports, railroads, water, pipelines, basic industries (e.g. cement, steel, etc.) as well as infrastructure in mining and agribusiness. In the context of its mining and metals sector engagement, EAIF also considers selected metals financings. Roland has over 33 years of experience in banking and fund management in both emerging and developed markets. Prior to joining Investec Asset Management, Roland worked in project and corporate finance, as well as M&A for a/o Ermgassen &Co, EBRD, Merrill Lynch, Citigroup and Mitsubishi UFJ.
