International Graphite

International Graphite (IG) is a new generation industrial company with a strong foothold in the escalating energy storage and renewables market. Registered in Australia, the company is generating strong investor interest for its flagship development – an advanced graphite processing facility in the United Arab Emirates.

The business will leverage off demand growth for graphite worldwide. The material is highly sought after for new technologies, particularly Li-ion batteries for electric vehicles, consumer electronics such as mobile phones and computers, and fire-retardant building materials. The IG plant will also produce secondary graphite products for mainstream industrial applications. Demand for graphite for Li-ion batteries alone is expected to increase by over 200 percent by 2021.*

A strategic location has been identified for the new IG plant in the tax-free zone of KIZAD in Abu Dhabi in UAE. This major industrial estate neighbours the international cargo port of Kalifa, between the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.  The site offers strong economic incentives and is ideally situated to receive high quality graphite concentrate from east Africa, which IG will treat to produce product for export to international markets.

Following strong results from a Prefeasibility Study, International Graphite has now progressed to a full Feasibility.

Recent developments include a land offer from the KIZAD industrial development authority; an MOU under negotiation for quality concentrate feed from a fully-funded east African producer; a leading marketing expert recruited from the US; a UAE business representative and environmental consultants appointed; technology and equipment selection is underway following a tour of China by International Graphite’s technical team; and discussions are advancing with potential project funders in the UAE and elsewhere.

The International Graphite development is a long-term industrial project with a projected high financial rate of return.

Two tranches of funding are sought which create attractive opportunities for investors. The first stage will support the completion of activities leading to the Finance Investment Decision, with a second phase, in late 2019, as the development seeks full project funding.
